Baker Donelson Welcomes Two Attorneys to Atlanta Office

Walter J. Bibbins Jr. and John S. Ghose have joined the national law firm of Baker Donelson as of counsel and special counsel respectively, in the Firm's Atlanta office.

John's government investigations and enforcement experience, including with the Department of Justice and Microsoft, along with his impressive track record of representing clients in data security incidents and navigating compliance with privacy laws, will be invaluable to our clients."

Mr. Ghose primarily focuses his practice on representing corporate and individual clients before regulatory agencies, such as the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and state attorneys general. An experienced trial attorney, he draws from his diverse experience in the private and public sectors to provide practical advice to his clients, and he has first-chaired eight federal jury trials, second-chaired three federal jury trials, and defended those verdicts before federal appellate courts on the briefs and during oral argument.

Mr. Ghose is well-versed in novel technologies, including cryptocurrency, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, and he has presented to government and private sector audiences on these topics in over 50 countries. He represents clients during data security incidents that include ransomware and network intrusion attacks, and he assists clients with privacy and cybersecurity compliance projects centered on domestic and international privacy laws, including the CCPA, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, PIPEDA, LGPD, PIPL, and POPIA.

Mr. Bibbins, who joins Baker Donelson as a member of the Firm's Advocacy Department, focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including products liability, mass torts, and transportation litigation. As an engineer-turned-lawyer, Mr. Bibbins has utilized his legal and technical skills for more than 20 years in defense of complex product liability matters involving the design, manufacture, and field performance of commercial and consumer goods ranging from automotive and asbestos-containing products to medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

In addition to defending manufacturers, distributors, vendors, and health care professionals against individual, mass tort, and class action lawsuits, Mr. Bibbins is frequently called upon to provide counsel regarding judicial and jury decision-making, trial theme development, and alternative case resolution strategies. Over the years, Mr. Bibbins has provided counsel and representation to numerous foreign and domestic companies, including Fortune 500 companies, and successfully handled multiple high-profile cases with potential exposure in excess of $100 million.
