(Birmingham, AL / August 25, 2016) Baker Donelson announces the arrival of Marcus Maples to the Firm's Birmingham office.
"Marcus is a respected litigator in the state of Alabama with tremendous experience dealing with business leaders across a variety of industries and he is a welcome addition to the Firm," said Andy Rotenstreich, managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Birmingham office.
Mr. Maples joins as a shareholder in Baker Donelson's Business Litigation Group and has in-depth experience defending directors and officers of closely held corporations in claims involving breach of fiduciary duty, minority oppression and shareholder derivative claims. He also litigates disputes over trust and estate matters including disputes involving fiduciaries, will contests and trust litigation.
Mr. Maples serves as national counsel for domestic and international construction companies handling litigation matters in various jurisdictions throughout the country and also has experience representing a variety of businesses in general commercial litigation.
A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Mr. Maples is a frequent speaker on leadership in the legal profession. He is an active member of DRI and has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Alabama Super Lawyers since 2013. Mr. Maples serves on the Executive Board for the Alabama Lawyers Association and is a member of the Magic City, Birmingham, and American Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of North Alabama and for the Farrah Law Society.
