(Knoxville, TN/May 24, 2007) On June 1, the law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC will host a luncheon to honor attorney Robert F. Worthington for his 50 years of service to the Firm. Among the distinguished guests attending the event is Senator Howard H. Baker, who is Senior Counsel with Baker Donelson and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Chief of Staff to President Ronald Reagan, and U.S. Ambassador to Japan. Senator Baker's grandfather founded the Firm in 1888 in Huntsville, Tennessee, and in 1957, the Senator and Mr. Worthington established the Firm's Knoxville office.
"As a widely recognized figure in both the Firm and the Knoxville legal community for a half century, Bob has earned the respect of his clients and colleagues and has established a reputation as a true professional and an exceptional person," said Kelli L. Mr. Worthington, who is of counsel in Baker Donelson's Knoxville office, concentrates his practice in general corporate law, public utilities and governmental relations. His experience includes securities, administrative law, business combinations and partnerships as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Worthington has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® list (Copyright 2007 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken S.C.) in the practice areas of corporate, mergers and acquisitions and securities law. A member of the Dean's Circle of the University of Tennessee College of Law, he is listed in Marquis Who's Who in America and Continental Who's Who. Mr. Worthington has played an active role in the Knoxville community, serving on the Boards of Directors of the East Tennessee Historical Society and the Knoxville Zoological Society and as a member of the Knoxville Opera Company. He served as General Counsel for the World's Fair at Knoxville in 1982 and is currently a member of the Board of Governors of Club LeConte.
