Join us to hear about major immigration law developments affecting businesses today, including the following:

  1. Immigration Reform: This status update on the Senate’s version of comprehensive immigration reform will include a review of key provisions of Senate Bill S 744, including proposed reforms to immigrant and nonimmigrant visa programs affecting U.S. employers, and discuss how the proposed reforms will address existing H-1B and other work visa challenges.
  2. Defense of Marriage Act: When the Supreme Court struck down DOMA, it set a chain of events in motion. Learn what U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has been ordered to do as part of this overhaul.
  3. I-9 Audits and Employer Worksite Enforcement: Both Immigration and Custom Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations have increased I-9 audits and other worksite enforcement activity, with HSI serving more than 3000 inspection notices and nearly 500 final orders totaling over $12.4 million in administrative fines.
