(Memphis, TN / December 10, 2013) Whitney M. Harmon has been recognized as one of Memphis Business Journal's "Top 40 Under Forty," a list recognizing successful business and community leaders in the Memphis area.
Mrs. Harmon, an associate in the Memphis office of Baker Donelson, is a member of the Firm's Labor & Employment Group, where she represents employers and management clients regarding all aspects of employment law, with an emphasis on the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims. She is a member of the Association for Women Attorneys and the American, Federal, Tennessee and Kentucky Bar Associations. Mrs. Harmon is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is an active member of the Memphis Bar Association. She currently serves as co-chair of Baker Donelson's Memphis office Women's Initiative.
A 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, Mrs. Harmon has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Mid-South Super Lawyers for two years. She is the LEAD Program coordinator for the Junior League of Memphis and serves as board chair for Literacy Mid-South, an organization working to increase the literacy of Mid-Southerners through group literacy classes and individual tutoring.
