Baker Donelson Moves Up in Ranking of Country's Largest Law Firms

(Memphis, TN/January 3, 2008) Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC is ranked 78th on The National Law Journal's 2007 list of the 250 largest law firms in the country. The Firm's ranking on the 2007 NLJ 250 is up from 90th in 2006.

The NLJ 250 ranks law firms based on the total number of attorneys. With 526 attorneys, Baker Donelson is among the 10 largest firms based in the South to be included in the list.

"Our ranking on the NLJ 250 is important, not because of its focus on size, but because it highlights our efforts to better meet the needs of our clients through a broader and deeper practice offering and an expanded geographic scope," says Ben Adams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Baker Donelson. "In recent years, Baker Donelson has implemented a strategy of smart growth in order to keep pace with the needs of our clients as they move into regional, national and international markets. Our new ranking on the NLJ 250 is evidence of the success of that strategy."

The National Law Journal's 30th annual survey covers the period from October 1, 2006, to September 30, 2007. Eligibility is based on a firm's total number of attorneys, not including contract or temporary attorneys, and a firm must have more lawyers based in the United States than in any other single country.
