(Knoxville, Tennessee / September 24, 2012) R. Culver Schmid has been named managing shareholder for the Knoxville office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC. Mr. Schmid will maintain his practice, which focuses on commercial transactions including real estate development and finance, business acquisitions, secured lending, commercial and residential condominium law, municipal corporations and administrative law.
Mr. Schmid represents banks, commercial real estate developers, manufacturing concerns and acts as legal counsel to The Industrial Development Board of the City of Knoxville. He also serves as commissioner and chairman of Knoxville's Community Development Corporation by appointment of the Mayor of the city of Knoxville.
Mr. Schmid has been recognized as a leading attorney by The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Banking and Finance Law and Commercial Finance Law. He has also been recognized by Cityview magazine as a "Top Attorney" in Banking and Business/Commercial Law.
