After the announcement by the Nashville Technology Council that it has named Microsoft account executive Bryan Huddleston as CEO and president of the 400-member organization, Chris Sloan, a board member of the Nashville Technology Council, comments in the Tennessean on the tech council converting its workforce development initiative into a 501c3 nonprofit, allowing it to accept grant money and other funding that was previously not possible as a 501c6 organization. Mr. Sloan notes the restructuring also allows businesses to make tax-deductible contributions to the group and is expected to increase funding capabilities.
