On March 1, 2013, the federal budget is scheduled to be reduced automatically by $1.2 trillion. Congress created this deficit reduction device as part of the so-called "sequestration" plan under the Budget Control Act of 2011. Even if congressional action is taken before March 1, the spending limits necessary to avoid sequestration will have a dramatic impact on federal contracting programs.
Government contracts attorneys from Baker Donelson invite you to a free breakfast briefing where we will discuss the effects of sequestration on federal contractors. Topics will include:
- What does sequestration mean, and why is it happening?
- How will federal contractors be affected?
- Could your contract be terminated?
- What steps can you take right now to prepare for budget cuts?
Program, breakfast and parking are complimentary. Space is limited for this event.
