Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader and founder and CEO of The Daschle Group Tom Daschle (D-SD) recently participated in a "Fireside Chat" with former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) at the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology's 2015 Annual Meeting. Senator Daschle and Senator Frist threw their support behind the federal government's recently announced plan for improving the interoperability of health information technologies.
Senator Daschle, a co-founder of the Bipartisan Policy Center, which has lobbied in favor of limiting the federal government's oversight of health IT, said the ONC's interoperability roadmap offers the health care industry "a degree of clarity and certainty" it previously lacked.
