Baker Donelson's Lang Wiseman Named to Tennessee's Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council

Lang Wiseman, a shareholder with the national law firm of Baker Donelson, has been named to the Tennessee Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council, and he will serve as chair of the council's Policy Subcommittee.

Recently created by the Tennessee Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council Act, the council will provide a collaborative source of knowledge, expertise, and information sharing to advance the State of Tennessee's use of AI technologies in an ethical, adaptable, collaborative, and beneficial modality for all Tennesseans. The council will recommend and support the implementation of sound policies and strategies regarding AI use and adoption.

Mr. Wiseman, who practices from Baker Donelson's offices in both Nashville and Memphis, provides strategic political, legal, and legislative advice in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, health care, transportation, automotive, energy, real estate, and financial services, as well as educational institutions and local governments and economic development districts. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, he served as Deputy Governor and Chief Counsel to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, acting as a liaison between Governor Lee's office, the legislature, and the various departments and agencies in state government.

Before his appointment as Deputy Governor and Chief Counsel to the Governor, Mr. Wiseman practiced law in Baker Donelson's Memphis office and was a founding partner at the Memphis law firm Wiseman Bray PLLC. A graduate of the Harvard Law School, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in Commercial Litigation and Government Relations, and he is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Memphis Bar Associations. Mr. Wiseman received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, achieving the Top Graduate of the College of Business while serving as co-captain of the university's basketball team.
