Diversity Matters: Note from the Editor

Diversity Matters Newsletter

Happy Holidays! As we navigate the holiday season and the quickly approaching new year, I am reminded of the importance of enjoying the moment. It does not take much to get distracted and move from one task to another. But for now, I encourage you to enjoy every smile, chuckle, giggle, good deed, happy memory, lesson learned, item checked off your to-do list, challenge you have overcome, and mountain you have climbed. These moments of reflection will bring more joy and happiness during this holiday season. They will also prime us for the new year and the faith needed for a renewed commitment to creating respectful and inclusive spaces that provide opportunities for all.

This edition focuses on the power of unity and leaning on each other, the importance of getting out of our comfort zones, how to be thoughtful about workplace policies during the holidays, and how artificial intelligence (AI) continues to shape the workplace through legislation and litigation. We also have articles that focus on our latest employee resource group, Baker Shalom, and recount Jim Obergefell's recent remarks during a program at our Firm. As you reflect on this edition of Diversity Matters, we hope you find a renewed commitment to enjoy the celebratory moments now while gearing up to work together to make tomorrow better.
