The Equal Pay Act (EPA) was intended to guarantee women "equal pay for equal work." Fifty-five years later, the gender pay gap still exists, and the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have brought a renewed focus on the treatment of women in the workplace. Even without intentionally discriminating against anyone, companies can find themselves in violation of pay equity laws when "comparable" positions are found to have pay discrepancies by race and gender that cannot be explained away by neutral factors such as seniority, education and experience.
This webinar addresses the history and current status of pay equity laws and their current impact on employers. We also address how hiring, retention and pay practices are impacted by these laws and steps you can take to protect your organization from pay equity claims.
