Ms. Nix assists clients in all aspects of employment, including discrimination and harassment charges, contract disputes, and drafting policies and handbooks, as well as policy implementation and interpretation. She also represents clients in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigations.
While Ms. Nix focuses her practice on employment litigation, she also assists clients in a variety of litigation matters and industries, including health care certificates of need, managed care litigation, hospitality, and general business litigation. From pre-suit investigations to trial or mediation, Ms. Nix works diligently to ensure her clients are prepared each step of the way. She has successfully dismissed claims and lawsuits against her clients, defended clients in depositions, reached settlement agreements, mediated claims, and both assisted with trial and tried cases . Ms. Nix prioritizes her clients' needs and works to instill the confidence needed to establish lasting, trusted relationships.
Ms. Nix also served as a pro bono fellow and summer associate for the Firm. In addition to continuing to serve multiple pro bono clients, she volunteers at and coordinates the HELP clinic, a monthly free legal clinic, at Room in the Inn. During law school, Ms. Nix completed Rule 31 Family Mediation training and volunteered with the Community Mediation Center.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson as an associate, Ms. Nix studied journalism at Auburn University, and she interned with a local magazine and newspaper. She gained valuable experience writing, interviewing, and investigating, and she enjoys implementing these skills in her legal career today.
