Andrew J. Droke of Baker Donelson has earned a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Originally launched in 2004 as the first professional certification ever offered in information privacy, the CIPP has become the preeminent credential in the field. A CIPP credential means the recipient has gained a foundational understanding of privacy and data protection law and practice, and has knowledge of jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models. Mr. Droke holds the CIPP/US concentration, which focuses on the U.S. private sector.
Mr. Droke, an associate in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, focuses his practice on counseling clients in a broad range of data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity matters. In his role as co-leader of the Firm's General Data Protection Regulation Team, he assists U.S.-based and global organizations with data processing agreements, issues involving international data transfers, and navigating conflicts between foreign privacy laws and U.S. compliance obligations with respect to data use and processing. As a member of the Firm's Health Law group and Data Protection, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Team, Mr. Droke advises clients regarding information privacy, security, and compliance strategies.
