Successfully dismissed several claims against banks and other financial institutions for claims related to wrongful foreclosure and unfair and deceptive trade practices.

Successfully defended clients in a multi-million dollar lawsuit involving breach of contract and tortious interference with contractual relations claims related to the alleged entry into a bareboat charter agreement.

Represented a contractor in a nationwide collective action involving claims related to the alleged misclassification of employees as exempt from overtime, resulting in the plaintiffs voluntarily decertifying the collective action.

Professional Biography


Ms. Guyton has a broad range of experience at the trial and appellate levels. She has extensive experience representing financial institutions in a wide variety of matters, including mortgage servicing litigation and other mortgage-related matters, lender liability claims, wrongful foreclosures, and claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices.

She is also experienced in construction litigation matters, and regularly represents engineering and construction companies, especially program managers. Her employment law experience includes defending clients against nationwide collective actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and against charges of race discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation. Additionally, Ms. Guyton defends clients in business tort, personal injury and wrongful death, bankruptcy and collection matters, and assists clients in a variety of business transactions, including corporate acquisitions and obtaining tax and economic incentives.

While attending law school, Ms. Guyton served as an intern for the Honorable Ivan L.R. Lemelle of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
