Sam Carey focuses his practice on various litigation matters.

Professional Biography


Sam is an associate in the Firm's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Advocacy Department.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Sam served as a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee for the Honorable Thomas L. Parker, where he conducted legal research and drafted court orders in both civil and criminal matters. Sam also interned for United States Representative Jim Cooper, focusing on issues related to space policy and voting rights.

In law school, Sam served as a student attorney with the Stanton Foundation First Amendment Clinic, where he worked on cases implicating free speech and government transparency. In this role, he argued a motion in Maryland state court in a case challenging the concealment of police misconduct records under Anton's Law.

Sam is proficient in Spanish.
