Zach Gilreath handles a wide variety of litigation, particularly with respect to business and construction matters.
As a member of the Construction Group, Zach assists clients in disputes arising throughout the construction process, including matters involving contract interpretation and breach, as well as project delays and disruption. He has assisted clients through all stages of dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation before trial courts and administrative agencies.
Zach has also represented a broad range of businesses in complex civil litigation matters, including commercial disputes pertaining to corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and non-profit entities. In this area, he has developed a track record of resolving cases early and favorably through the dispositive motions process and resolution discussions.
Zach has defended and advocated for his clients in depositions, motions hearings, and trials in numerous state and federal courts. He also has experience handling appellate matters stemming from both trial court and administrative agency decisions, and he has briefed issues before the Appellate Court of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
He has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Litigation - Construction; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants; and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants. Additionally, Zach has been selected to Maryland Rising Stars in Insurance Coverage and Construction Litigation.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Zach served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Michael W. Reed at the Appellate Court of Maryland. He was later an associate at a midsized civil litigation defense firm in Baltimore.
